About the event
This Social Sniff Walk is a guided group walk designed around how dogs actually learn social safety.
All dogs, regardless of temperament, benefit from distance, predictability, and choice when sharing space. If dogs appear social or eager to greet, repeated high-arousal interactions can contribute to frustration, overstimulation, and rehearsed behaviours that are neither safe nor sustainable long-term.
This walk prioritizes neutral exposure, regulated movement, and observational learning of body language. Dogs remain on leash, and engagement with other dogs is avoided phase 1. The walk is structured in phases to support calm transitions, decompression, and clear communication.
Phase2: Optional introductions may be offered only when they support regulation, not excitement. Play is not a requirement for social development.
This first Social Sniff Walk is free to attend with RSVP and serves as an introduction to the Leashly Club approach for the 2026 season.
