This program is the first badge in our canine milestone series, designed to help you and your dog build a connection through mutual engagement. Based on a 'see one, do one' mentorship model, you will begin by joining a guided walk with a Lion Leader to learn the philosophy of natural engagement and voluntary interaction. You will then complete three independent walks focused on engagement tasks—like choosing to jump on a log or interactive exploration—where the dog leads and you reward natural check-ins, documenting your progress in the Belonging Book. Finally, you will transition from student to mentor, pairing up to support the next guardian beginning their journey to earn this badge.
